Do you remember that girl who became super famous at the Kumbh Mela last year? The one selling rudraksha beads who everyone couldn’t stop talking about? Well, Monalisa Bhosle is back in the news — and this time, it’s because she just got married!
But her wedding has caused a lot of drama. Let’s break it all down in a simple way.
Who Is Monalisa Bhosle?
Monalisa Bhosle is a young girl from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. She became an internet star in 2025 when videos of her selling rudraksha beads at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj went viral. Millions of people saw her videos and fell in love with her charm. After that, she even got a chance to act in a Malayalam film called Nagamma, which is how she ended up in Kerala.
How Did She Meet Farman Khan?
While working on film sets, Monalisa Bhosle met an actor named Farman Khan, who is from Maharashtra. The two became friends, and their friendship slowly turned into love. Farman even said that it was Monalisa who first proposed to him! He said he said no at first, but she convinced him, and he eventually said yes.
Their relationship, however, was not easy. Both families were against it because Monalisa is Hindu and Farman is Muslim. Monalisa’s family even tried to fix her marriage with someone else — a relative she did not want to marry.
What Happened in Kerala?
When the couple was in Kerala for a film shoot, things got tense. Monalisa’s family tried to forcibly take her back home. So the couple went to the Thampanoor police station to ask for help and protection.
Police called Monalisa’s father and explained that since she had turned 18, she was legally an adult and had every right to choose who she wanted to marry. After that, the couple got married at the Arumanoor Nainar Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, and the wedding was attended by Kerala’s Education Minister V. Sivankutty and CPI(M) state secretary M.V. Govindan.
What Is ‘Love Jihad’ and Why Are People Talking About It?
Some people online and in the media started saying that this was a case of “love jihad.” This is a term some people use when they believe a Muslim man is tricking a Hindu woman into marriage for bad reasons.
But Monalisa Bhosle strongly rejected all of this. Speaking at a press conference the day after her wedding, she said the marriage had been shown in the wrong way by some media outlets, and called the claims false and misleading. She said clearly, “There is no such thing. Wrong propaganda is being spread. Everyone in society is equal.”
Farman also denied the allegations and said their love story was completely real and honest.
Why Did They Choose Kerala?
Farman said they chose Kerala for the wedding because they expected strong opposition to their relationship in other parts of the country. India TV News And Kerala did not disappoint them. Monalisa Bhosle said she was overwhelmed by the love and support they received there, saying, “Kerala is very beautiful and people here have supported us greatly.”
The Simple Truth
At the end of the day, this is just a story of two people who fell in love, faced problems, but still chose each other. Monalisa Bhosle is not a victim — she is a young woman who made her own choice, stood up for herself, and got the wedding she wanted.
Love, after all, doesn’t really understand religion, language, or borders. And maybe that’s the most beautiful thing about this whole story.
