Delhi murder suspect got 90% in Class 12, used marksheet to fund betting

Delhi murder- A smart young man named Rahul Meena did very well in school. He got 90% marks in Class 12, which means he was one of the best students. But he got hooked on online betting games and lost lots of money. To play more, he even gave away his special marksheet paper to get cash.

Rahul is 23 years old and from a village in Rajasthan. He used to study science and dreamed of a bright future. His family said he was quiet and good at books. But after school, he started playing betting apps on his phone. He lost money fast and needed more to keep going.

To get cash, Rahul sold or pawned things from home. He gave his marksheet, phone, bike, and even family items to shops for loans. His family tried to stop him, but he kept playing. Just days before a big problem, he won 5 lakh rupees (that’s like 500,000 rupees). Friends told him to bet more using their accounts. But he lost it all again and felt big pressure to pay back.

Rahul went to Delhi about one-and-a-half months ago. He said he was on work leave. Police think he knew a house in Amar Colony where an IRS officer (a government tax worker) lived with his daughter. The daughter was smart too and wanted to be an IAS officer. Delhi murder

On April 22, 2026, something terrible happened. Rahul went into the house to steal money for his debts. Police say he hurt the girl badly, did wrong things to her, and killed her. After that, he took some money and used it for more online betting. He tried to hide by making a fake phone call and turning off his phone. He ran to a train station and changed hotels to escape.

But police were smart. They made 15 teams to find him. They checked CCTV videos from the building gate and streets. An auto-rickshaw driver helped them track him to a hotel in Dwarka. They caught Rahul there.

When police asked him why, Rahul had no sorry feelings. He said, “If she had given the money, this would not have happened.” That’s very mean. Now he is in jail for four days to tell more about what he did. They will visit the crime spots again.

Rahul’s family is shocked. They said they never thought their top student could do this. They blame his betting addiction. “If guilty, punish him strictly,” they said.

Delhi murder story teaches kids: Betting games look fun but can ruin lives. They make smart people do bad things. Always say no to gambling and ask grown-ups for help if in trouble.
